MY NAME IS CHIP

MY NAME IS CHIP
Mommy calls me “Chip” because I remind her of the chocolate chips she likes to put in her baking. My family name is Chihuahua. I am small, but have very big ears. People say I came from Mexico, so that’s why we like the warm weather. Often times, you’ll see Chihuahuas wear sweaters during the cold season.
Here is my story. When my master , Christina, was two years old, Ba (Christina’s grandma) asked her what she wanted for her birthday. Christina replied without hesitation, “A dog, please.” Christina loves pets, and has always wished for a dog of her very own. Since my master was not old enough to take care of a pet, and mommy did not have time and energy to care for another “kid”, Christina had to wait until February 2008, when Ba could not make Christina wait any longer. Ba looked for a dog and she found me. The nice thing is everyone loves me and wants to share me, so I spent my time at Ba’s house during the week (when Christina and her sister Tiffany are in school and basketball practices) and the weekends at my master’s house. I think you’d like to know more about me. I’m one year and two months old. I love to be held. When I don’t get enough attention, I like to tear up newspaper that Ba put on the floor that I use to do my ‘business’ on. Many times, I take my blanket out of my bed, or drag my bed into the kitchen area for fun. Sometimes Ba yells at me when I pee outside my newspaper, or make a mess in her kitchen. I’m smart though; when Ba gets out the gate I know I did something wrong, and I have to go in timeout behind the gate. So then I get back in my basket, or my bed. But I’m stubborn., I do not want to change my behavior. I want attention, please.
Last year (2008), I enjoyed being with the Carlile’s when Ong or grandpa, Ba, and Uncle Petey took a mission trip. I missed Ong; he likes to tease me, and I try to bite him, but he gets away easily.
Maybe someday I will be nice. So, life is wonderful for me! I love everyone because they love me!
